Standardisation and language services
In a fast changing market environment, the standardisation of language services is an essential requirement for outcome quality in terms of correct form and content, and for better communication between stakeholders in the translation process and industry.
This online workshop will present some basic ISO standards for translation and language services (such as ISO 17100 on translation services, ISO 23155 on conference interpreting services, or ISO 18587 on post-editing), and will act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and best practices between translation professionals, academics, companies and standardisation bodies in Greece and Europe.
The Department of French Language and Literature of the
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration
with the European Commission and the Technical Committee
TC21 of NQIS/ELOT (mirror committee of ISO/TC37 Language
and terminology) are organising on Friday 2 June 2023 a
Translating Europe Workshop
on standardisation in language services.
Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required.
Certificates of attendance will be issued.
The Translating Europe workshops are organised by Directorate-General for Translation representatives in the EU Member States, often in cooperation with local organisations and universities.
The workshops are part of the Translating Europe project, created to bring together translation stakeholders in Europe. They complement the yearly Forum organised in Brussels and consist of smaller scale events, targeted at specialised audiences within national translation communities.
